Heat for Families in Mexico
It's that time of year again. The time of year when snow starts to fall to the ground and temperatures fall below freezing. When each of us turns on the heat in our own homes and can sympathize more with families that don't have this same luxury. For the past three years we have raised enough money through this fundraiser to provide every family that Casas por Cristo builds a home for with two electric blankets. Electric blankets are the perfect option because these families living in extreme poverty do not have the money to run a heater in their homes. However these heated blankets only use about as much electricity as a light bulb at the bare minimum they provide families with a warm night's sleep. For $30 a family can receive two electric blankets, which may possibly be the only source of heat that they have all winter.
Please consider giving towards this cause this year. The only blankets we will be able to purchase will be through donations received. With 200 houses projected to be built in 2010, we need to raise $6000 to provide each family with blankets. Please consider giving as a Christmas gift, or in memory or honor of someone. This winter you have the opportunity to give a gift that will really make a difference. 100% of donations go towards providing blankets for families in Mexico.
