Kayaks + Life Lessons

I've been in awe lately of ALL that is around us that we can not see. As human beings we often think  we have All the answers and deem what we can't figure out "impossible." The reality is, often times we simply need someone to come alongside us and show us something that we can't see.

My sister got to that point this morning when she was trying to shove a giant inflatable kayak back into its bag. She told me that it would never go back in. Since we were talking, I was able to give her a perspective that she couldn't see. She backed up, started over, and began again.

When she started she was telling me that this was a total impossibility. By the end, she had shoved every paddle, pump, and kayak in.

She went from telling me how something wouldn't work, to laughing with her head in her hands when it was complete. Honestly, I think we do this to God all the time. I think we get so frustrated with things in life that we throw it to the side and kick and scream. Sometimes we simply need to sit down with our Father and ask Him to show us the way. Each time we do, He guides us and teaches us something new.

This was as much a reminder for me this morning as it was for my sister. When I think something is impossible, I need to stop and reach out to others or to my Father. I can wrestle through life my own way or I can reach out and ask God to guide me.

Sometimes I need the visual of a giant kayak being stuffed into a bag. This morning was the exact reminder that I needed it to be.
